Tennessee Basketball is closing in on the 2022-2023 regular season in a hurry.
The Vols will open up regular season play this upcoming Monday night against Tennessee Tech after already having two preseason games under their belts. Tennessee hosted Tom Izzo’s Michigan State squad in Knoxville in late October before traveling down to Frisco, Texas to defeat No. 2 Gonzaga by a score of 99-80.
However, despite the lopsided win against Gonzaga, there is still a lot of work to be done.
“Overall, we had a good effort,” Barnes said about the game on Thursday. “I thought both teams played hard and it benefitted both teams. It was certainly a different environment. Something I‘d like to see us be able to do more going forward but there were some good things in it. We just have to build on what we did the other night.”
