Coming off its best young of the season, Tennessee returns home to Neyland Stadium to take on Akron. The Vols are 50-point favorites against the Zips in the 7 p.m. ET matchup, according to Circa Sports.
The over/under opened at 71.5.
Tennessee is 2-0 against the spread this season, covering the 6-point spread in overtime against Pitt and the 35.5-point spread against Ball State in the opener. The 2-0 start to the season against the spread is strong, especially after going 5-7 against the spread a season ago.
The over and under have each hit once in Tennessee’s first two matchups of the season.

Akron is 1-1 straight up this season, beating St. Francis to open the season before falling to Michigan State, 52-0, Saturday. The Zips are 0-2 against the spread this season, failing to cover as 17-point favorites against St. Francis and as 34.5-point underdogs against Michigan State.
The under has hit once this season and one over/under has pushed this season for Akron.
Tennessee’s week three matchup against Akron is its final tune up before beginning SEC play on Sept. 24. The Vols start SEC play in massive fashion, hosting division rival Florida inside Neyland Stadium.
