Tennessee is readying for a weekend series against Notre Dame with a spot in the College World Series on the line.
While Vol baseball prepares for its biggest series of the season to date, Tennessee basketball forward Josiah-Jordan James took aim at Notre Dame. James had some playful fun in the replies of the Fighting Irish baseball Twitter account, congratulating them on a great season.
Hell of a season @NDBaseball! You all should be very proud! Hate that it has to come to an end this weekend🍊🍊 Sorry not sorry

James has been a major supporter of Tennessee baseball this season, frequenting games at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. The rising senior is friends with a number of players on the team and shared a thread of pictures following Tennessee’s, 12-7, regional win over Campbell.
Some of my favorite Vols🧡

No. 1 Tennessee has been the nation’s best team this season and one of the best teams in modern college baseball history. They’ve been nearly unbeatable at home, posting a 37-3 record at the friendly confines of Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
“The thing for us is just our fans,” Tennessee head coach Tony Vitello said. “It’s awesome being in Hoover. It’s awesome what went on in Chattanooga and Memphis, anyone that documented that this year, twice in Smokies park. It was incredible trust me we appreciate that and I think it helps our guys efforts but there is a little bit different way it goes down for our players (at Lindsey Nelson Stadium). I’m speaking for them, at least the way I feel and what I see out of them, when it’s out home crowd I think it’s a little but more of a comfort zone and it’s something that helps our play.”
Notre Dame enters the Knoxville Super Regional 38-14 (16-11 ACC) after sweeping through the Statesboro Regional last weekend. The Fighting Irish boast one of the nation’s best pitching and a middling offense.
First pitch for the weekend series is set for 6 p.m. ET Friday night on ESPN2.
