Tennessee Drops Epic Tournament Hype Video

Final Four Futures Odds

Tennessee basketball released its hype video from its SEC Tournament Championship win over Texas A&M.

The Vols knocked off Texas A&M, 65-50, in the title game leading from wire-to-wire to win their first SEC Tournament in 43-years.

Tennessee captioned the video, “The job is not finished.” referencing Kobe Bryant’s iconic postgame press conference following game two of the 2009 NBA Finals.

The video shows Tennessee assistant coach Justin Gainey referencing the quote in the locker room pregame. Rick Barnes referenced it postgame Sunday following a question about how his team kept its focus and energy after the emotional semifinal victory over Kentucky.

“Well, we did address it that we’ve been here before and that actually again today, again, I’ll give really great credit to my coaches,” Barnes said. “They’re always looking for angles to keep these guys present in the right now and to stay in the moment. Coach Gainey today pulled up a clip of Kobe Bryant, and they were up two games, and the reporter said you don’t seem like you’re very happy. He said, ‘We’re not done. We’re not finished.’ It’s hard. They’re kids, and they should enjoy this, but we came here.”

Josiah-Jordan James, Santiago Vescovi and Kennedy Chandler all landed on the five-person All-Tournament team and Chandler was named Most Outstanding Player.

The hype video documents the game and postgame celebration including clips of the trio accepting the trophies, cutting down the nets and plenty of postgame embraces.
