Super Bowl Prop Bets For TD Scorers — Don’t Be Shocked To See A Defensive TD

As if beating the Tennessee Titans in the divisional round was not surprising enough, the Cincinnati Bengals are playing in Super Bowl LVI. The Bengals opened as 3.5-point underdogs, but the line has since moved to 4 or 4.5 points at most sportsbooks. But the game’s outcome is not the only thing bettors can put money on.

Sportsbooks post hundreds of prop bets for NFL games about anything and everything. When it comes to the Super Bowl, sportsbooks often take it to another level with props on just about every aspect of the game.

Among the many props offered will be various touchdown scorer markets. The following markets are a small sample of what sportsbooks are offering:

Anytime Super Bowl TD Scorer

Joe Mixon +115 (FanDuel)

The best way to back off a fierce pass rush is to get the run game going. The Bengals have remained committed to the run game during the postseason and will likely do the same in the Super Bowl. Mixon, their workhorse RB, has only scored once during the playoffs, but he had 13 touchdowns during the regular season. The Rams’ defense allowed 18 rushing touchdowns during the regular season.

Odell Beckham Jr. +140 (BetMGM)

OBJ has been looking more and more like his old self since joining the Rams. A big game in the Super Bowl could go a long way toward the Rams WR getting an excellent contract offer is excellent in the offseason.

Bengals Defense +550 (PointsBet)

Cincinnati’s defense has scored twice this season. Rams QB Matthew Stafford had 17 interceptions during the regular season. While he has only thrown one during the playoffs, it would not be shocking to see him have an off day and throw a few in the Super Bowl, giving the Bengal D a chance to score.

Bengals First Touchdown — Joe Mixon +375 (Caesars); Ja’Marr Chase +400 (BetMGM)

The Bengals will likely try to establish the run to combat the Rams pass rush. Running the ball will not be easy against the Rams, but it could lead to Mixon scoring the first touchdown for Cincinnati. However, in the biggest game of the year, the Bengals will need their superstars to make plays, which will mean a lot of QB Joe Burrow to WR Ja’Marr Chase.

Rams First Touchdown — Cooper Kupp +310 (BetMGM); Matthew Stafford +3300 (BetMGM)

Kupp is the obvious choice here. The WR had 16 touchdowns during the regular season and four of Stafford’s six touchdowns during the playoffs. Stafford does not run a lot, but he has the only two rushing touchdowns the Rams have scored during the playoffs. With Super Bowl glory on the line, it would not be shocking to see him make a run or two for the endzone.

TD In Both Halves

Cooper Kupp +600 (DraftKings)

The Rams have leaned on Kupp all season, and that should be the case during the Super Bowl, too. With six multi-touchdown games to his name, it is not hard to imagine him scoring twice against the Bengals. But the best odds for him to score 2+ touchdowns is +260 (at PointsBet). If you are thinking of betting on that market, you might as well roll the dice that he has at least one in each half and go for the bigger payout.

Joe Mixon +1100 (DraftKings)

Keeping the run game on track will be important for the Bengals. There will likely be a few opportunities for Mixon in the red zone, assuming they can. Mixon recorded two touchdowns in a game three times during the regular season.

Ja’Marr Chase +1200 (DraftKings)

It is not hard to imagine a scenario in which the Bengals fall behind and must throw the ball a lot to catch up. If that happens, it would not be shocking to see Chase make a few plays and get into the endzone a couple of times.

Touchdown Parlay

Cincinnati Defense To Score Anytime And Cincinnati To Win +1300 (FanDuel)

If Stafford’s interception woes return and the Bengals record a pick-6 in this game, there is an excellent chance Cincinnati goes on to win the Super Bowl.
