The Super Bowl is almost here, and with the biggest sporting event of the year comes top betting opportunities.
With companies like Caesars Sportsbook Maryland, which is expected to launch this year, offering promos and plenty of sports betting markets to put money on, sports bettors should be ecstatic when the NFL’s championship game kicks off on Feb. 13. But before you get your bet slip ready, you have to make sure you’re in the right location to bet on the big game.
Here is where to bet on Super Bowl 2022:
Tennessee Sports Betting
Tennessee is the Volunteer State, and residents have certainly volunteered their time to sports betting.
Bettors placed more than $2.7 billion worth of sports bets in Tennessee last year, and sportsbooks make close to $240 million in gross revenue. The industry has certainly taken off in the state, making it an ideal place for bettors to put money down on the Super Bowl.
Tennessee doesn’t have any retail sportsbooks, but it does boast numerous online apps for bettors to use. They range from major companies like BetMGM, DraftKings, Caesars, and FanDuel to lesser-known options like Tennessee Action Network 24/7. More should be coming soon, as six additional operators are hoping to set up shop in the state.
Sports fans in the South are particularly passionate, too, so if you’re looking for somewhere to place that all-important Super Bowl wager, you can’t go wrong with the Volunteer State.

New York Sports Betting
New York is one of the world’s most well-known spots, and its gambling scene is nothing to scoff at, either.
The market is pretty new, as mobile sports betting launched in the Empire State on Jan. 8. And it didn’t just launch; it went off with a bang, with residents tallying more than 17 million transactions during its first full weekend of activity — success unseen in other states. New York was expected to be a massive gambling market, and it’s already proven its worth.
Such a powerful market means there are already tons of ways to bet in New York, and Caesars, DraftKings, and FanDuel are all active there. The combination of a hugely profitable market and the top companies in sports betting means bettors will have the best opportunities at their disposal to win some money on the NFL’s biggest day.
Another positive for New York: it’s also right beside New Jersey, where many New York residents traveled to bet when it wasn’t legal in their own state. New Jersey saw $1.26 billion in sports bets in November, so it’s safe to assume a lot of the bettors who previously placed wagers in the state, either due to restrictions or by choice, will now do so while in New York as well.
Plus, what’s better than watching the Super Bowl and getting some action on the game in New York — a state known for its endless opportunities, numerous sports teams, and the realization of dreams?
Louisiana Sports Betting
Louisiana is the baby of sports betting, but that doesn’t mean it should be taken lightly.
The state launched sports gambling on Jan. 28, and it’s expected to be a massive player in the scene. Louisiana is also a great place to be. New Orleans is as unique as it is entertaining, with delicious food, top sports teams, and the liveliness of Bourbon Street all at visitors’ disposal.
With sports betting now active there, too, fans can have an unforgettable experience in the Pelican State while also potentially winning some money. There’s certainly interest in the NFL, as the AFC Championship game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs attracted 42% more wagers than any other in sports betting’s first two active days, WAFB reported.
If that’s not enough, legendary LSU quarterback Joe Burrow, who led the Tigers to a national title and won the Heisman Trophy all in the same season, will now lead the Bengals against the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl.
Maryland Sports Betting
Maryland is in a different situation than other states on this list. Mobile sports betting isn’t yet active in the state, but retail gambling is, so bettors still have reason to make the trip there for the Super Bowl.
Casinos like MGM National Harbor, Horseshoe Casino Baltimore, and Live! Casino and Hotel Maryland offer big stakes for bettors, and they opened with fanfare. Some even invited athletes and politicians to their official openings. Although mobile betting isn’t available, Maryland’s retail sportsbooks should more than do the trick for bettors.
As evidenced by the work the state has put into its casinos, including their illustrious openings, Maryland clearly takes its sports betting seriously, so fans would be well-served to engage with it while there. And there’s no better time to do so than during the year’s largest sporting event.
