Fresh off of its 100th season, Neyland Stadium is getting a substantial renovation done this winter.
According to UT Sports, the construction inside of Neyland Stadium this off-season will be for “a club-seating area on the stadium’s lower westside as well as the addition of a second video board and associated social party deck in the upper north end.”
Immediately after the regular-season finale against Vanderbilt, teams were already on the ground to begin the first steps of the project as fans were still filing out of the stadium. Throughout the offseason, there have been glimpses of the construction being done through leaked pictures on social media.
Thanks to videos from WATE’s Kellyanne Stitts and WBIR’s Madison Blevins Hock on Thursday, Tennessee fans had their best chance yet to see the continued progress inside the walls of Neyland Stadium.

Neyland Stadium is getting a home makeover ahead of the 2022 season.
One key improvement is the addition of the north-side videoboard.

As seen in the videos, the lower west sideline (behind the Tennessee bench) will be receiving major upgrades, as chair-back seating will be available in those respective sections. Additionally, the northern end of the stadium will be receiving a new jumbotron. Once the construction is complete, Neyland Stadium will boast a jumbotron on both the south and north ends.
Below are concept renderings, released by Tennessee Athletics, to give an idea of what the finished product will look like. The first phase of the project is projected to be completed by the start of the 2022 football season.
