Tennessee running back Tiyon Evans is out for the Vols’ matchup with No. 1 Georgia Saturday afternoon.

The Vols will also be without Kingston Harris and Christian Charles. Tennessee has been without the interior offensive lineman and freshman safety for the last number of weeks. Both are backups for Josh Heupel’s first Tennessee team.

Evans has been in-and-out of Tennessee’s lineup this season with a handful of injuries. The junior college transfer got injured in his first on his first carry against Kentucky and then didn’t come back in the game after the following play.

The junior running back has 525 rushing yards and six touchdowns this season.

With Evans out, Jabari Small will be the Vols’ primary back. Small was also questionable entering the week as he’s dealt with a lingering shoulder injury all season. The sophomore running back didn’t finish last week’s game at Kentucky.

Tennessee’s third string running back has changed all season. Sophomore running back Len’Neth Whitehead and freshman running back Jaylen Wright have earned most third string snaps this season. Wright earned the bulk of the playing time in the court quarter at Kentucky as Small and Evans were both injured.

Kick off in half an hour from Neyland Stadium.
