Week five is officially in the books as Tennessee improved to 3-2, 1-1 SEC on the year after the win in Columbia. The Vols took down the Tigers, 62-24, in a game that was over by the time the first quarter ended.
Tennessee’s offense had a field day on the ground and in the air. The Vols accounted for more than 680 total yards as Hendon Hooker and Tiyon Evans each racked up three touchdowns on the day.
The Volunteers’ defense also came to play, as the Vols had two interceptions against what was the SEC’s third-highest passing attack. All in all, Tennessee has about a good of a day as they could of imagined. The Vols needed to bounce back this week after a loss to Florida previously. And, after the win against Missouri, Tennessee also moves into the 3rd spot in the SEC East. The Vols are only trailing undefeated Kentucky and Georgia, and are one spot above Florida due to the Gators’ one additional SEC loss.
