Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel earned his first SEC win as the Vols’ head coach Saturday as his team trounced Missouri 62-24.

In Heupel’s first conference win, his offense turned in a dominant performance. The Vols scored on 10 of their 11 drives and scored touchdowns on the first six drives of the game.

Postgame, Heupel discussed the dominance of the Vols’ run game, giving credit to adjustments made by Hendon Hooker and Tennessee’s offensive line.

Still, Heupel stressed postgame that his offense can do even more and that they were “just scratching the surface.”

Heupel also discussed the play of Hendon Hooker and his defense, which was sneakily effective against a strong Missouri offense.

The win is a critical one for Tennessee, making its path to bowl eligibility much clearer heading into the SEC home opener against South Carolina next Saturday.

Here’s what Tennessee’s first year head coach had to say after the dominant win.
