Tennessee redshirt junior tight end Jordan Allen has entered the transfer portal, Allen announced on Twitter Wednesday afternoon.
“I am grateful for my time at Tennessee,” Allen wrote in a message he posted to Twitter. “I have a lot of love for my teammates, the University, and the fans. I can call myself a graduate from the University of Tennessee for life! Also, I have a lot of respect for Coach P and wish him nothing but success in the future.
“With that being said said I have entered the transfer portal and am looking to finish my last two years at another school as a tight end/wide receiver. Looking forward to the future!”

Allen signed with the Vols as a four-star junior college prospect in 2018 out of City College of San Francisco. He played outside linebacker and defensive end for the Vols during his first season in 2018, but only saw the field as a reserve and on special teams. Allen made six tackles that season.
The California native did not play last season due to a hip injury. When he finally recovered from the injury, Tennessee moved him from the defensive side of the ball to the tight end position. Allen has not recorded any stats at the tight end position this season.
