Three-star offensive lineman Amari McNeill has committed to Tennessee, he announced on Twitter Monday afternoon.

“Since I started playing football at the age of 5 years old, I’ve always dreamed about playing D1 football and playing at a collegiate level,” McNeill said in a Tweet. “First of all, I would like to thank God for all the opportunities he has blessed me with because without him none of this is possible! To my parents, sister, family, coaches and friends thank you for all the support. You all have taught me how to become a better man and a football player!

“I would also like to thank ALL the universities, coaches who have offered me the opportunity to play football at the next level.. with that being said I would like to say that I am 100% COMMITTED to the University of Tennessee!!”

McNeill tweeted out Sunday night that he would be deciding between Tennessee, Minnesota, Washington State, Memphis and North Carolina A&T. He is being recruited by most schools to play offensive line, though he could potentially play defensive line for the Vols.

The Suwanee, Georgia native is ranked as the No. 1,173 overall player in the country, the No. 103 overall offensive tackle and the 105th-best player in the state of Georgia. McNeill hails from Peachtree Ridge High School.

McNeill holds offers from over 25 schools. In addition to scholarship offers from his finalists, McNeill has offers from several non-Power Five schools and FCS schools. His only Power Five offers are from Minnesota, Tennessee and Washington State.

Tennessee’s recruiting class now has 25 commitments in its 2021 recruiting class that ranks No. 14 overall in the country. The class ranks fifth in the SEC.

The Vols lost a commitment from three-star defensive end Darrell Jackson early Monday morning. McNeill is one of four d-linemen committed in UT’s class should he play along the defensive line when he arrives.
