After taking on one of the best teams in college basketball in the Big 12/SEC Challenge, the Vols return home and resume SEC play on Tuesday night.
Tennessee (12-7, 4-2 SEC) tips off against Texas A&M (9-9, 3-3) to get back into the heart of their conference schedule. The Vols have won two-straight SEC games and have picked up victories in four of their last five conference contests. The Aggies, meanwhile, have lost two of their last three SEC games, with their only win coming in a close contest on the road against Missouri.
Neither the Vols nor Aggies score a ton of points, but Tennessee at least makes a decent amount of their shots when they take them. Texas A&M has one of the worst field goal percentages in the nation, and only three teams in all of Division I basketball have a worse three-point shooting percentage than the Aggies. As a team, Texas A&M is only making 26.1 percent of their threes this season. Only one Aggie player — Savion Flagg — is shooting better than 30 percent from three this year.
All-time, Tennessee is 8-5 against Texas A&M, but they’re just 4-4 against the Aggies since A&M joined the SEC. The Vols have won three-straight games against Texas A&M in men’s basketball, including two road wins in College Station.
