Jalin Hyatt got the state title game started with a bang, and he finished it with one, too.
Dutch Fork High School in Irmo, South Carolina came away with their fourth-straight state title on Saturday afternoon with a 34-31 win over Dorman. The victory didn’t come easy for Dutch Fork, though.
Trailing 31-28 in overtime, quarterback Ty Olenchuk threw a perfect lob into the back of the end zone for four-star wide receiver and Vol commit Jalin Hyatt, and Hyatt came down with the game-winning grab to seal the victory for the Silver Foxes.

Hyatt, who is rated as a four-star and the No. 289 overall prospect and No. 54 receiver in the 2020 class on 247Sports, bookended the state championship game with explosive plays. The 6-foot, 175-pound speedster got the scoring started in the title game when he took the opening play 80 yards for a touchdown to put Dutch Fork up 7-0 only 17 seconds into the game.
Then, at the end of the game, Hyatt made the game-winning touchdown grab, scoring both the first and the final touchdowns of the contest.

Hyatt capped off his stellar senior season and his record-setting high school career with seven catches for 165 yards and three touchdowns in the state title game. The championship is Dutch Fork’s fourth-straight title, and Hyatt finished his high school career with a 55-1-1 record in his four years with the Silver Foxes.
Not only did Hyatt have a phenomenal finale to his high school career, but he also had that performance in front of his future coaching staff and a future (and former) teammate.
Current Vol cornerback Bryce Thompson was in attendance for Saturday’s game. Thompson played at Dutch Fork, too, and he and Hyatt were teammates with the Silver Foxes for two seasons. Now, the two are slated to be teammates once again in college.
Thompson wasn’t the only representative from UT at the game, though. Co-defensive coordinator and outside linebackers coach Chris Rumph and head coach Jeremy Pruitt were both at the game to watch Hyatt as well.

With Saturday’s game-winning performance, Hyatt finishes his senior season at Dutch Fork with 66 receptions for 1,361 yards and 26 touchdowns. Hyatt caught a total of 57 touchdowns in three seasons with Dutch Fork and amassed over 3,500 receiving yards in that same span.
Hyatt is expected to sign with the Vols during the early signing period — which begins December 18th.
