Reese Chapman, an outfielder in the 2022 recruiting cycle, has committed to Tennessee baseball, according to his Twitter profile.
“I am excited to announce the I will be furthering my athletics and education to the University of Tennessee,” Chapman announced on Twitter Tuesday night. “I wanted to thank my family and coaches that me to get where I am at today.”

Chapman is an outfielder from Aurora, Colorado standing in at 6-foot-1, 175 pounds. The left-handed hitter is entering his sophomore season at Grandview High School.
Playing for USA Prime baseball this fall, Chapman impressed, showing off his power from the left side of the plate. In the championship game of the Future Stars Series, Chapman hit a three-run home run over the right field fence to finish summer ball with an OBP over .500.
According to USA Prime Recruiting, Chapman “found barrel pretty much ever game this summer.”

The Vols’ 2019 recruiting class ranked No. 8 in the country, while the 2020 class is currently ranked No. 18 in the nation. Tennessee’s 2021 class is ranked even higher at No. 6, which includes the No. 1 player in the country – Brady House.
Although the 2022 class isn’t ranked yet, Chapman figures to bring power to a Tennessee lineup that has lacked it over the last couple of seasons.
