The Vols are off to a 2-0 start after playing a couple of decent non-conference foes and voters around the nation are taking notice. Tennessee received 14 points in this week’s Associated Press Poll, which places them at 35th nationally. They stood at 39th in the same poll last week. Jon Wilner, who covers college football for Mercury News, ranked the Vols 21st last week and 22nd this week. Doug Lesmerises, who covers Ohio State for Cleveland.com, ranked the Vols 17th last week and 16th this week.
Tennessee plays at No. 3/4 Oklahoma Saturday before returning home for an open date. They will then travel to No. 6 Georgia for a big SEC game before hosting Florida on October 4th. The Gators, though not ranked inside the top-25, received the 29th most votes this week.
