Tennessee has had a number of off-field assistants leave their football program this offseason. Now, Jeremy Pruitt is working on replacing some of those analysts and assistants.

According to his Twitter, Michael Colosimo is leaving Kentucky to join Tennessee’s staff as an offensive quality control coach. Colosimo had served as a graduate assistant over the last three years on Kentucky’s staff, and he worked closely with the Wildcats’ tight ends this past season.

Before joining Kentucky’s staff, Colosimo spent one season as a volunteer assistant at Pittsburgh working with their quarterbacks. While there, he worked with Jim Chaney when he was the Panthers’ offensive coordinator. In coming to Tennessee, Colosimo is reuniting with Chaney, as he was just hired earlier this month as UT’s new offensive coordinator.

Prior to working with Chaney at Pitt, Colosimo was a walk-on quarterback at Cincinnati in the 2013 and 2014 seasons. He appeared in four games and saw extensive action in the Bearcats’ bowl game against Virginia Tech in 2014 after starting quarterback Gunner Kiel was injured. He finished his playing career completing seven of his 15 passes for 88 yards and a touchdown while running for 54 yards on four carries.

Colosimo is the first off-field addition to Pruitt’s staff this offseason. Tennessee has lost several off-field analysts to other programs this offseason. John Lilly left UT to go coach tight ends in the NFL for the Cleveland Browns, Shelton Felton left to go coach inside linebackers at Akron, Montario Hardesty left to coach running backs at Western Kentucky and then left that position to go coach wide receivers at Charlotte, and Tino Sunseri just left his role to go coach with his father and brother on Alabama’s staff.
