Tennessee signed all but four of the players they had committed to them prior to the early signing period in December. One of those four commits, three-star defensive end Jalil Clemons, ended up flipping his commitment from the Vols to Memphis, and he signed with the Tigers during the early signing period. The other three committed players remained committed to UT.

That is, until Saturday.

Four-star junior college linebacker Lakia Henry announced on Twitter on Saturday afternoon that he is re-opening his recruitment and is decommitting from Tennessee.

Henry committed to the Vols back on May 20th of 2018, and he officially visited the Vols on November 2nd as well. But after a second year in the JUCO ranks that wasn’t as impressive as his first and with talk about potential grade concerns, he didn’t end up signing with the Vols in December and kept his options open.

Now, he’ll go into the final month of the 2019 cycle as a completely uncommitted prospect.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Henry is the No. 3 JUCO prospect in the 2019 cycle and is the top-ranked JUCO linebacker in this class. Florida State and Arkansas are believed to be the two favorites in his recruitment now.

The Vols have 19 signees and two commitments in their 2019 class right now. The two committed players who didn’t sign with UT during the December signing period are four-star safety Anthony Harris and three-star defensive tackle LeDarrius Cox.

Tennessee is expected to get official visits from four-star linebacker Henry To’oto’o and three-star in-state linebacker Chris Russell in January heading into National Signing Day on February 6th.
