If there’s one thing five-star offensive tackle and Tennessee signee Wanya Morris doesn’t lack, it’s confidence. And that was on display on Thursday night.
Morris participated in the Under Armour All-American game on Thursday night along with some of the top prospects in the 2019 recruiting cycle. He was there along with four-star safety and fellow Vol signee Jaylen McCollough along with Vol targets such as five-star offensive tackle Darnell Wright and four-star receiver George Pickens.

During the game, ESPN’s Matt Schick did a sideline interview with Morris about the game, him being named after the Boyz II Men lead singer, and his plans for the future. And Morris feels very confident about his upcoming time in Knoxville.
“I’m going to definitely try to go in there and start my first year and try to be an All-American,” Morris told Schick on the sideline. “They’re going to get my all. Vol fans, I hope y’all are watching, because I’m going to give you my all.
“We’re going to go to a natty (national title game). We’re gonna get a natty.”
The five-star Vol signee hopes and believes he can be part of the roster that helps end Tennessee’s two-plus decade championship drought. The Vols, of course, haven’t won a national title since 1998 and haven’t won the SEC since then either. Tennessee hasn’t even won the SEC East since 2007.
But Morris, who is used to winning at a high level at Grayson High School, believes in head coach Jeremy Pruitt and the prospects joining him in the 2019 cycle and the future. And he thinks those droughts will end sooner rather than later.
Morris is the headliner of Tennessee’s 2019 recruiting class. He’s ranked as the No. 13 overall player and No. 3 offensive tackle in the country according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. During the Under Armour All-American Game, he played at tackle for most of the first half before sliding inside to play guard. The consensus seems to be from analysts and scouts at the game that Morris performed very well during the game after a somewhat up-and-down week of practice.
The 6-foot-6, 312-pound lineman will be an early enrollee and will join Tennessee later this month once classes begin at the University of Tennessee.
