Four of Tennessee’s commits in the 2019 class didn’t sign with the Vols in the early signing period last week. Four-star safety Anthony Harris, four-star JUCO linebacker Lakia Henry, three-star defensive tackle LeDarrius Cox, and three-star defensive end Jalil Clemons didn’t sign with UT during the December signing period. Clemons flipped his commitment from Tennessee to Memphis and ended up signing with the Tigers, but the other three remain committed to the Vols despite not signing with UT.
Cox said a week and a half ago in an interview with AL.com that he plans on sticking with his commitment to Tennessee and signing with them in February. But it looks like the Vols will have a battle on their hands if they wish to retain them.
According to Jason Caldwell of Inside the Auburn Tigers, Cox will be taking a visit to Auburn in January sometime after the recruiting dead period ends after January 10th. Cox last visited the Tigers in late June on an unofficial visit. He’s tentatively scheduled to take an official visit to Ole Miss in late January as well.

Cox hasn’t visited Tennessee since attending a camp on June 23rd. He didn’t take any visits during his senior year and has mostly kept quiet about his recruitment.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Cox is the No. 586 overall player and the No. 38 defensive tackle in the 2019 class. He holds offers from Auburn, Georgia, Oregon, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, and others.
Cox played for McGill-Toolen High School in Mobile, Alabama, and the 6-foot-4, 305-pound defensive lineman helped his team earn a 9-3 record this past season. Cox totaled 42 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and five sacks as a senior.
Tennessee signed three defensive tackles in the 2019 early signing period. The top-rated JUCO defensive tackle, Savion Williams, signed his Letter of Intent with the Vols, and JUCO defensive tackle Darel Middleton and three-star Elijah Simmons also signed with the Vols last week. UT also added Michigan transfer defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon on Friday of last week, though it remains to be seen if he’ll be eligible for the 2019 season.
