Tennessee is continuing to swing for the fences to try and close out their 2019 recruiting class. And they found out on Tuesday that they’re one of the top final teams for the No. 1 wide receiver in this current cycle.
Jadon Haselwood, a five-star receiver out of Georgia, tweeted out Tuesday night his five finalists in his recruitment. And he did so in a unique way, showcasing some custom cleats with the logos of his five top teams. Tennessee is among the finalists, joining Georgia, Oklahoma, Miami, and Florida State.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Haselwood is the No. 1 wide receiver and No. 1 player in the state of Georgia in the 2019 class, and he’s the No. 6 player in the entire class. He had been committed to Georgia up until October 2nd when he announced his decommitment.
Since then, it’s been a full court press from several teams to try and land the talented receiver. And the Vols have been one of those teams.

Haselwood unofficially visited Tennessee back in early February, and he came away impressed with UT’s new coaching staff. Tennessee stayed in contact with him throughout the following months, and once he decommitted from Georgia, UT’s coaches upped their pursuit of the lengthy receiver. Their efforts paid off, as Haselwood took a visit to see Tennessee again last weekend.
Right now, Haselwood has taken two of his official visits. He’s visited Miami and Florida State officially, leaving three more official visits for him to take. The five-star receiver plans to make his college announcement on January 5th at the All-American Bowl Game.
Haselwood’s school, Cedar Grove, played in their state title game on Tuesday after it had to be rescheduled because of the MLS match over the weekend. He helped his team win the title with the game-winning touchdown grab in the fourth quarter.

That touchdown capped off a solid senior season at Cedar Grove. Haselwood has played in an offense that’s been more run-oriented, but he’s still flourished as a pass catcher and has showed off his considerable talent at camps across the country as well. He’s been electric on defense in high school too, but it’s expected he’ll be a wide receiver in college.
Though Haselwood’s senior film hasn’t been uploaded yet, his junior film is still extremely impressive. Though he’s not a burner, the 6-foot-3 receiver has exceptional body control and runs crisp routes. He has soft hands and can make a number of difficult grabs. He’s a perfect red zone target, but he’s more than just that too. He high points balls very well, and he just seems like a ready-made college wide receiver. Haselwood shows off his 34-inch vertical on several occasions in his highlight film, and he has some great athleticism.
Just like with his film, Haselwood’s senior stats haven’t been finalized. But even in a more run-oriented offense as a junior, Haselwood still caught over 40 passes for over 700 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also had nine interceptions as a safety.
Tennessee only has one wide receiver committed to them in their 2019 class right now, and that’s fellow Georgia receiver Ramel Keyton. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Keyton is a four-star who played for Marietta in high school.
