Saturday may not have been a great day for current Vols, but Sunday proved to be a good day for several former Vols as they played in the NFL.
Alvin Kamara, Derek Barnett, and Jason Croom all put out strong showings on Sunday, and they headlined what was a great day for former Vols in the league. Kamara racked up nearly 200 yards of offense and set a career-high in receiving yards in a game with 124 yards on 15 catches. He also led the New Orleans Saints with 66 rushing yards on 16 carries. He was a big reason the Saints were able to defeat the Atlanta Falcons in overtime.
Barnett was also a huge reason why his team, the Philadelphia Eagles, won their contest against Indianapolis. Barnett made the game-clinching sack with less than a minute and a half to go in the game in the red zone, and he finished the afternoon with a career-high five tackles, 1.5 sacks, three tackles for loss, and two quarterback hits.
And for the first time in his career, Jason Croom hauled in a touchdown in the NFL. Croom entered Sunday’s contest with only four catches for 25 yards on the season and his NFL career, but he found himself wide open in the first quarter, and he brought down a 26-yard touchdown as the Buffalo Bills jumped ahead of the Minnesota Vikings 17-0 in the opening quarter. Buffalo ended up winning 27-6.
But those three former Vols weren’t the only ones who had a good Sunday.
