Mykelle McDaniel’s time at Tennessee probably isn’t remembered by many Vol fans, and that’s because he wasn’t on the roster for long and didn’t make an impact in any games for UT. But according to McDaniel, his minimal impact at Tennessee had a lot to do with former head coach Butch Jones.

McDaniel took to Twitter to air out some frustrations about his time at Tennessee, claiming that Butch Jones pulled his scholarship after he tore his ACL and also told him that he was “waiting on (him) to get an ‘F’ in a class or fail a drug test or get injured” so he could pull that scholarship. He also detailed an encounter he had with a UT police officer and Jones’ reaction to that alleged event.

The former Vol shared more than just that in a Twitter rant that spans multiple tweets. You can read all of them below. (WARNING: McDaniel uses some harsh and foul language in some tweets)

McDaniel joined the Vols as a late addition to their 2016 class out of Grayson High School, the same high school current 2019 Vol commit Wanya Morris plays at. He was a three-star and rated as the No. 501 overall player in the 2016 class. He transferred to UAB in July of 2017 and had to sit out all of last season as part of the NCAA-mandated transfer rules. Though as of now, he’s no longer on UAB’s roster online.

We will have more details on this story as they emerge.
