Tennessee’s coaches are making their final pitches to some of the Vols’ top targets in the 2018 class as National Signing Day quickly approaches. And the Vols’ coaches were on the road again Wednesday night to visit two highly-rated prospects in the class.
A contingent of Vol coaches visited four-star wide receiver Jacob Copeland on Wednesday night. Head coach Jeremy Pruitt headlined the group, and he was joined by offensive coordinator Tyson Helton, wide receivers coach David Johnson, and assistant Brian Niedermeyer.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Copeland is the No. 69 overall player in the country and the No. 12 wide receiver in the 2018 class. He’s also the 14th-best player from the state of Florida in the class according to those rankings.
The 6-foot, 192 pound receiver immediately took an interest in Tennessee once they announced the hiring of Pruitt as head coach. He visited the Vols back on December 15th, but Alabama and Florida continue to make things difficult for the Vols in his recruitment. The Tide and Gators appear to be the favorites to land Copeland, but the Vols are far from out of the race.
And according to 247Sports, Tennessee’s coaches also visited five-star cornerback Tyson Campbell on Wednesday night.
Campbell received a visit from cornerbacks coach Terry Fair, linebackers coach Chris Rumph, and special teams/safeties coach Charles Kelly. Tennessee has been making a late push for Campbell and recently got him to visit UT’s campus on January 26th. He’s still scheduled to visit Miami this upcoming weekend.
Per the 247Sports Composite rankings, Campbell is a five-star and the No. 12 player in the nation. He’s the No. 2 corner in the 2018 class and the 4th-best player from the state of Florida. The 6-foot-2, 180 pound corner holds offers from nearly two dozen schools.
Miami and Georgia have been locked in a battle for Campbell for a while, but the Vols have been coming on strong for his services as of late. Tennessee has a lot of ground to make up on one of the best corners in this class, though.
