Officials from the Battle at Bristol have long said they expect ESPN’s College GameDay would be in town for the Sept. 10 matchup between Tennessee and Virginia Tech at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Now it’s official.

ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit and Chris Fallica confirmed via a Facebook Live chat on Thursday that college football’s most iconic pre-game show will, indeed, be in Bristol as part of a busy early-season schedule (H/T 247Sports).

The crew will split time between LSU-Wisconsin at Lambeau Field and Alabama-USC at AT&T Stadium in Arlington on the first Saturday of the year. They will swing by Florida State-Ole Miss in Orlando on Monday and then be up to Bristol for the Sept. 10 matchup between the Vols and Hokies, which is expected to be the most-attended game in college football history.

Bristol Motor Speedway is currently being transformed from a raceway to a football stadium that is expected to host over 150,000 fans. A live stream of the transformation is available right here.
