Tennessee baseball opened up SEC play this past weekend with a three-game series against Florida at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

But despite a major step up in competition, the Vols just kept winning. Tennessee totaled a 4-0 week with a Tuesday night victory over West Georgia and then a series sweep of a top 10 Florida team. Entering the week, the Vols were the nation’s top-ranked team in every rankings except for one.

D1Baseball was the last holdout but they are no longer. Tennessee is the consensus No. 1 team in the country after jumping LSU to land at the top spot in the D1Baseball rankings.

The Vols won a thriller against Florida on Friday night when Nate Snead threw 3.2 innings of scoreless relief for Tennessee to hold off the Gators 5-3. On Saturday, Marcus Phillips threw seven scoreless innings then Tennessee scored nine seventh inning runs to earn a 10-0 run-rule victory. Then in the series finale, the Vols overcame a 4-1 deficit to earn a 7-4 victory.

On the mound, Phillips, Snead and Dylan Loy were fantastic. At the plate, Reese Chapman, Manny Marin and Gavin Kilen led the way for the Vols’ offense.

Here’s a look at where Tennessee baseball landed in all the rankings this week.
