The SEC’s reign of dominance across the men’s college basketball landscape resulted in a shattered NCAA record on Selection Sunday.

With a new all-time record of 14 entrants into the 2025 NCAA Tournament, the Southeastern Conference has officially passed the Big East’s previous record of 11 teams during the 2011 tournament.

The SEC’s NCAA Tournament teams include 1-seed Auburn, 1-seed Florida, 2-seed Tennessee, 2-seed Alabama, 3-seed Kentucky, 4-seed Texas A&M, 6-seed Ole Miss, 6-seed Missouri, 8-seed Mississippi State, 9-seed Georgia, 9-seed Oklahoma, 10-seed Arkansas, 10-seed Vanderbilt, and 11-seed Texas in a play-in game.

More from RTI: Four Takeaways On Tennessee Basketball NCAA Tournament Draw

While there’s no guarantee that an SEC team will cut down the nets this April, teams from the Southeastern Conference have four of the six highest national championship odds according to Fanduel on Monday morning (Florida, Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee).

The SEC won 89% of its non-conference games this season and held the No. 1 ranking in the country from Week 6 to Week 18 between Tennessee and Auburn. Additionally, the SEC had 14 teams ranked in the AP Top 25 at some point this season.

The lone two SEC programs that did not make the tournament were LSU and South Carolina.

Auburn won the SEC regular season and was rewarded with the top overall seed in the tournament because of its resume. Florida, one of the hottest teams in the nation right now, ended up with a one-seed after winning the SEC Tournament championship on Sunday over Tennessee. The Volunteers eliminated the Auburn Tigers in the semifinals.
