Tennessee basketball is hosting a pair of five-star recruits on unofficial visits Saturday as the Vols host Alabama in a critical SEC matchup.

Five-star class of 2025 combo guard Matthew Able as well as five-star class of 2027 wing Malachi Jordan will be in Knoxville for the top 10 tilt, multiple sources told RTI.

Able officially de-committed from Miami on Friday and has been analyzing his future after Hurricanes coach Jim Larranaga announced his retirement back in December. He has also lined up visits to Alabama and Baylor for the upcoming weeks according to ESPN’s Paul Biancardi.

The 6-foot-5 shooting guard ranks as a five-star recruit and the No. 26 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. A Fort Lauderdale native, Able ranks as the No. 6 player in the state of Florida and as the No. 6 shooting guard in the country.

Tennessee was not involved in Able’s recruitment the first time around with the late rising guard committing to the Hurricanes over Wake Forest, Northwestern and Baylor. Able is still in the early stages of his recruitment the second time around. He’s still committed to Miami but plans on visiting multiple schools before making a decision in the spring.

Jordan is making his second visit to Tennessee in the last month after he previously went on an unofficial visit for the Florida game at the start of February.

A White House, Tennessee native who plays his prep basketball at the Link Academy in Missouri. Before transferring to Link Academy for his sophomore season, Jordan played at the Ensworth School in Nashville. He plays his AAU basketball for the MOKAN Elite EYBL team.

The 6-foot-5 prospect ranks as a five-star recruit and the No. 17 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. Jordan also ranks as the No. 8 small forward and the top player in the Volunteer State in the 2027 recruiting cycle.

Tennessee assistant coach Rod Clark has connections to both Link Academy and MOKAN. The Vols have a pair of former Link Academy players on their roster in Felix Okpara and Cade Phillips.

The Vols currently have two signees in its 2025 recruiting class in four-star wing Amari Evans and four-star center De’Wayne Brown. This is an incredibly important recruiting class for Rick Barnes and Tennessee basketball due to the eight scholarships they to work with in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

Tennessee has yet to land a commit in the 2027 recruiting cycle but that is unsurprising given how early it is in the cycle.

Tipoff between Tennessee and Alabama is at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon. Karl Ravech, Jimmy Dykes, Dick Vitale and Molly McGrath are on the call for ESPN.
