Tennessee Basketball hit a milestone achievement on Monday after being ranked No. 5 in the nation in the latest AP poll.
The Vols’ ranking on Monday was good for their 74th straight week inside the AP Poll, which is the third-longest in the nation at the Division I level behind only Houston (100) and Kansas (79). The closest SEC program is Kentucky at 36 straight weeks.
Tennessee’s 74-week streak also exactly doubles the previous record of 37 straight weeks from March 1999 to Feb. 2001.
The Vols have spent 12 of the 15 weeks this season with a single-digit ranking and haven’t been ranked outside of the Top 8 since Week 3 on Nov. 18, 2024.
