Five former Tennessee Volunteers are in action on Christmas Day.
The NBA has long held the Christmas Day spot but the NFL is getting in on the fun this year, too.
Dalton Knecht and Jaden Springer will hit the court for Christmas Day action while Trey Smith, Cordarrelle Patterson, and Derek Barnett will all be part of the Christmas slate on Netflix Wednesday afternoon.

Here’s a look at the VFLs in action on Christmas Day:
Dalton Knecht – Lakers
Knecht and the L.A. Lakers will take on the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m. ET.
Knecht is averaging 9.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 29 games with the Lakers this season.
Jaden Springer – Celtics
Springer and the Boston Celtics will host the Philadelphia 76ers at 5:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
The former Tennessee guard is averaging 1.0 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 0.3 assists in 10 games with the Celtics this season.
Trey Smith – Chiefs
VFL Trey Smith and the Kansas City Chiefs will head to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers at 1:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday in Christmas Day action.
Smith has continued to be a staple on the Chiefs’ offensive line protecting for superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Cordarrelle Patterson – Steelers
Patterson will be on the other side of Smith’s Chiefs with the Steelers on Wednesday afternoon.
The longtime NFL veteran has 30 carries for 132 rushing yards and 12 receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown in 11 games with Pittsburgh this season.
Derek Barnett – Texans
Derek Barnett and the Houston Texans will host the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. ET.
In 14 games this season, Barnett has 20 total tackles with 12 solos. Barnett also has four sacks – his highest since the 2020 season, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery for 28 yards.
