No. 1 Tennessee remains undefeated at 11-0 after a big non-conference win over Western Carolina in Knoxville on Tuesday night.
The Vols defeated the Catamounts by a score of 84-36 in the Food City Center.
Tennessee’s defense held WCU to just 22% shooting from the field in a bit of a unique game. The Catamounts went heavy on perimeter shooting as 39 of their 64 total shots came from the three-point range.
UT guard Chaz Lanier led the way for Tennessee with 19 points but four Vols in total reached double-digits: Jordan Gainey with 17, Darlinstone Dubar with 13, and Zakai Zeigler with 10.
Zeigler nearly had Tennessee’s second triple-double in program history as his night ended with 10 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists.
After the game, RTI’s Ryan Schumpert and Ric Butler broke down their quick thoughts on the Vols’ big win from Knoxville and preview what’s next for the Vols before Christmas.
