No. 1 Tennessee improved to 11-0 on Tuesday night with an 84-36 win over Western Carolina from the Food City Center in Knoxville, TN.
Western Carolina hit the first two shots of the game to jump out 6-0, but it was all Tennessee in the win over their non-conference foe as Vols guard Chaz Lanier led all scorers in the game with 19 points. Tennessee’s defense held the Catamounts to just 22% from the field as WCU launched 39 three-point attempts in an attempt to close the gap against the Vols.
Tennessee shared the wealth in the scoring department on Tuesday as nine Volunteers recorded points on the board. That includes Zakai Zeigler, who ended his night with a near triple-double at 10 points, 9 assists, and 10 rebounds.
Vols forward Darlinstone recorded 13 points in the win while center Felix Okpara put up nine total points including five straight in the early portion of the contest.
