Three-star instate running back Daune Morris flipped his commitment from Southern Cal to Tennessee football on Monday night, On3’s Hayes Fawcett first reported.

Morris ranks as a three-star recruit and the No. 498 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound running back ranks as the No. 29 running back in the country and the No. 16 player in the state of Tennessee.

A Murfreesboro native, Morris stars at Oakland High School where the Patriots are 12-1 entering this week’s state quarterfinal matchup against Maryville.

Morris committed to USC originally back in April but Tennessee upped its efforts recruiting the three-star over the summer. The Vols finally got Morris to make the trip east earlier this month for the Kentucky game. The instate prospect returned for his official visit this past weekend before flipping his commitment.

Morris is Tennessee’s 25th commitment in its 2025 recruiting class and its second running back commit joining three-star running back Justin Baker. Flip season is currently heating up and Tennessee is fighting to not only flip targets like Morris but also hold off its current commits.

Top commit and five-star offensive tackle David Sanders Jr visited Ohio State over the weekend while four-star cornerback Onis Konanbanny visited Florida.

At the moment, Tennessee football’s 2025 recruiting class ranks No. 7 nationally and No. 6 in the SEC according to the 247sports team rankings.
