NFL Vols: How Former Tennessee Players Performed in Week 11 of the NFL Season

Each week Rocky Top Insider will recap the performances of former Tennessee Volunteers in the NFL.

Below is a comprehensive list of week 11’s  VFLs in the NFL, including statistics and observations.

Derek Barnett – Houston Texans – DE

Barnett had what may have been the highlight of the week, as he forced a fumble, which was caught in the air by a Cowboys offensive lineman, who then was stripped of the ball. After forcing the first fumble, Barnett recovered the second fumble, and returned it for a touchdown.

 

Matthew Butler – Las Vegas Raiders – DT

Butler had one tackle as the Raiders lost to the Miami Dolphins.

Morgan Cox – Tennessee Titans – LS

Cox finished the game with eight snaps as the Titans were defeated by the Vikings 23-13.

Joshua Dobbs – San Francisco 49ers – QB

Dobbs did not see the field in the 49ers loss to the Seahawks

Princeton Fant – Dallas Cowboys – TE

Fant was elevated from the practice squad for the Cowboys matchup with the Texans. The tight end played seven snaps.

Kamal Hadden – Green Bay Packers – DB

Hidden did not see the field in the Packer’s win over the Chicago Bears.

Hendon Hooker – Detroit Lions – QB

The more dominant Detroit is, the more Hooker gets to see the field. Hooker took over late in the game, and was 3-for-4 through the air for 37 yards, and had three rushing yards.

Theo Jackson – Minnesota Vikings – DB

Jackson had one tackle as the Vikings defeated the Tennessee Titans.

Jauan Jennings – San Francisco 49ers – WR

Jennings continues to have an incredible season in San Francisco. The wide receiver caught 10 passes for 91 yards and one touchdown.

Gabe Jeudy-Lally – Tennessee Titans – DB

Jeudy-Lally did not see the field for the Titans.

Alvin Kamara – New Orleans Saints – RB

Kamara rushed for 67 yards on 16 carries. The star running back also caught four passes for 22 yards as the Saints cruised to a victory over the Browns.

Ramel Keyton – Las Vegas Raiders – WR

Keaton played 12 snaps but was not targeted.

Jaylen McCollough – Los Angeles Rams – DB

McCollough finished the game with one quarterback hit and five tackles. The rookie continues to impress after being looked over in the NFL draft.

Joe Milton III – New England Patriots – QB

Milton did not see the field in the Patriots loss.

Josh Palmer – Los Angeles Chargers – WR

Palmer ended the Chargers win over the Bengals with two catches for 23 yards.

Cordarrelle Patterson – Pittsburgh Steelers – RB

Patterson played 16 snaps for the Steelers but did not register a carry or catch.

Jalen Reeves-Maybin – Detroit Lions – LB

Reeves-Maybin did not play in the Lion’s win over the Jaguars.

Trey Smith – Kansas City Chiefs – OL

Smith played 58 total snaps, as the Chief’s undefeated season lasts no longer. The Bills defeated the Chiefs 30-21.

Alontae Taylor – New Orleans Saints – CB

Alontae Taylor had two pass breakups and eight tackles, and New Orleans beat the Cleveland Browns 35-14. Taylor covered fellow VFL Cedric Tillman much of the game, and had great coverage on the play featured below.

Darrell Taylor – Chicago Bears – OLB

Taylor returned from injury and had one tackle in the Bear’s loss to the Packers.

Cedric Tillman – Cleveland Browns – WR

Tillman had a quieter day than the three previous games, but still ended the game with three catches for 47 yards.

Dee Williams – Seattle Seahawks – RS

Williams played five snaps for the Seahawks in their win over the 49ers.

Darnell Wright – Chicago Bears – OL

Wright returned from injury to start his ninth game for the Bears.

Jaylen Wright – Miami Dolphins – RB

Wright struggled to get much going, as his five carries gained only four yards. The rookie running back caught a pass for two yards.

Byron Young – Los Angeles Rams – OLB

Young had one sack and three tackles in the Ram’s 28-22 win over the Patriots.

Cade Mays – Carolina Panthers – OL

Shy Tuttle – Carolina Panthers – DL

Jakob Johnson – New York Giants – FB

John Kelly Jr. – Baltimore Ravens – RB

Jabari Small – Tennessee Titans – RB

Kendal Vickers – New Orleans Saints – DL

Injured Reserve:

Micah Abernathy – Atlanta Falcons – S

Emmanuel Moseley – Detroit Lions – CB

Commissioner’s Exempt List:

Cameron Sutton – Pittsburgh Steelers – CB
