After over a month at the friendly confines of Neyland Stadium, Tennessee heads back on the road Saturday to face rival Georgia at Sanford Stadium in Athens.
ESPN’s College Gameday is in Athens on Saturday morning for the biggest game of the week in college football. The rivalry showdown has major ramifications. A loss eliminates Georgia (7-2, 5-2 SEC) from College Football Playoff contention while a win puts them in a good spot. A victory moves Tennessee (8-1, 5-1 SEC) to a win away from the SEC Championship while a loss puts them in a shaky position to make the playoffs.
The gameday crew isn’t split with all five analysts picking Georgia to defend its home field while no one picked Tennessee to pull the upset between the plains.
As of Saturday morning, Tennessee is 8.5-point underdogs at Georgia according to the DraftKings Sportsbook. The line was 9.5 points for most of the week but the line dropped a point after Nico Iamaleava was cleared to play on Friday night.
Tennessee is looking for one of its biggest wins of Josh Heupel’s era as they go on the road to face Georgia. Kickoff at Sanford Stadium is at 7:30 p.m. ET. Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Holly Rowe are on the call for ABC.
