No. 7 Tennessee will hit the road to take on No. 12 Georgia this Saturday night in Athens, GA.

The game between the border rivals isn’t just another chapter in their conference rivalry but also has major implications for the SEC Championship game and the College Football Playoffs ahead.

Tennessee is looking to get key players healthy before that game, though.

In the debut injury report on Wednesday night, Tennessee had three players listed as questionable and four listed as out. There are no changes on the Tennessee side in the Thursday night injury report.

Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava remains questionable on Thursday.

Georgia entered the week with four players questionable and three players out but have one big change on Thursday. Georgia starting running back Trevor Etienne moved from questionable to out in the Thursday injury report.

The second edition of the Tennessee-Georgia injury report was released on Thursday night. The injury report will be updated again on Friday night and roughly 90 minutes before kickoff on Saturday night in Athens. Check out the conference-wide injury report for yourself here.

Tennessee Notes

There are no changes in the Tennessee injury report from Wednesday night to Thursday night:

Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava remains questionable for Saturday’s contest. Iamaleava is reportedly in concussion protocol after suffering a few hard hits against Mississippi State late in the first half last Saturday. For more on Iamaleava’s injury and status throughout the week, click here.

Dont’e Thornton, Tennessee’s leading receiver with 505 yards and four touchdowns this season, also remains questionable on the Thursday night report. Thornton suffered an injury in the second half of last weekend’s Mississippi State game and did not return to the game.

Tennessee reserve offensive lineman Vysen Lang is listed as questionable in Wednesday’s report. Lang was not in the injury report at any point last week leading into the Mississippi State game.

Tennessee running back DeSean Bishop looks like he will be missing his second straight game this weekend after suffering an injury against Kentucky. Freshman running back Peyton Lewis has filled in for Bishop as Dylan Sampson’s backup and will likely continue that role on Saturday in Athens.

Thomas and Pili have season-ending injuries while linebacker Edwin Spillman has missed the vast majority of the season with injury.

Georgia Notes

The big note here is that Georgia’s starting running back Trevor Etienne is out for the game after starting the week at questionable. Etienne is Georgia’s leading rusher on the season with 477 yards and seven touchdowns on 95 carries. The next-highest running back, Nate Frazier, has 333 yards on 72 carries this season. Etienne did play in Georgia’s loss last week to Ole Miss where he recorded 24 yards on six carries in limited action.

Georgia could potentially be down four running backs on Saturday against the Vols.

Wide receiver Anthony Evans III has nine receptions for 88 yards and no touchdowns this season.

Running back Cash Jones only has eight carries on the season and isn’t much of a factor in the Bulldogs’ offense.
