Kim Caldwell and the Lady Vols basketball program made a major splash on the recruiting trail Monday night when five-star wing Deniya Prawl committed to Tennessee over a top group that included Baylor and Notre Dame.

A Toronto, Canada native, Prawl plays her prep basketball at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Prawl ranks as a five-star recruit and the No. 10 player and No. 4 small forward in the 2025 recruiting class according to the 247sports composite rankings.

The 6-foot-1 wing took a visit to Tennessee the weekend of Vol football’s matchup against Florida. That was the same weekend that Tennessee broke out the orange and Summitt blue Lamborghini at Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center.

Prawl is Tennessee women’s basketball’s third commitment in the 2025 recruiting cycle, joining twins Mia and Mya Pauldo. Mia is a five-star point guard and the No. 13 player in her class while Mya is a four-star shooting guard and the No. 53 player in her class according to the 247sports composite rankings.

Along with LSU, Tennessee is the only school that currently holds multiple commitments from top 15 recruits nationally. The Tigers hold commitments from three of the top 15 players nationally.

The 2025 recruiting cycle is Caldwell’s first full class as Tennessee basketball’s head coach. The Lady Vols are off to a 2-0 start early in Caldwell’s tenure with blowout wins over outmatched Samford and UT Martin. Tennessee is back in action on Tuesday night when they face MTSU at Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center.
