No. 7 Tennessee defeated SEC foe Mississippi State 33-14 on Saturday night in Knoxville to complete the Vols’ four-game, five-week home stand in Neyland Stadium. The Vols went 4-0 across the home stretch with wins over Florida, Alabama, Kentucky, and Mississippi State.
Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel met with the media after the Vols’ win on Saturday and was immediately asked the big question of the game: what was the latest on Nico Iamaleava’s status? The Tennessee quarterback did not return from the locker room for the second half due to an injury that he was battling. Josh Heupel provided an optimistic answer for Iamaleava’s status in the immediate moments after the win late Saturday night.
Heupel spent seven minutes talking to the media on Saturday night as he spoke about backup quarterback Gaston Moore, kicker Max Gilbert, Boo Carter’s big game, Mississippi State’s success in the run game, and much more.
