No. 7 Tennessee returns to Neyland Stadium this Saturday night to cap off a four-game, five-week home stretch in Knoxville. The Vols will host Mississippi State as the Bulldogs look for their first conference win on the season in their first year under head coach Jeff Lebby.

The first edition of the Tennessee-Mississippi State injury report was released on Wednesday night with a new impact player for Tennessee listed as out. The injury report will be updated on Thursday night, Friday night, and roughly 90 minutes before kickoff on Saturday night in Knoxville.

Tennessee’s injury report looks fairly similar to previous weeks while Mississippi State is dealing with far more injury trouble heading into the Week 11 contest.

Here’s a look at the Wednesday night injury report for the Tennessee-Mississippi State game on Saturday night:

Tennessee Notes

Tennessee doesn’t have a lot of change from their typical weekly reports.

Safety Jourdan Thomas and linebacker Keenan Pili are currently for the season with injury while linebacker Edwin Spillman has also been out for most of the season with an injury. None of those three players are surprising to see on the list.

Tennessee running back DeSean Bishop being listed as out is a key development since the Kentucky game. Bishop suffered a lower-body injury in the second quarter of the game on Saturday night and missed the remainder of the contest. Look for Tennessee freshman running back Peyton Lewis to build off his production as Bishop’s replacement against the Wildcats.

Tennessee defensive lineman Tyre West is listed as “questionable” heading into Saturday’s game at 7:00 p.m. ET in Neyland.

Mississippi State Notes

  • Shapen began the year as Mississippi State’s starting quarterback until Michael Van Buren took over the job starting with the Bulldogs’ loss to Texas on Sept. 28. Van Buren has led Mississippi State in passing in all five games since.
  • Whittemore recorded four receptions in the Bulldogs’ first three games of the year and doesn’t appear to have played since.
  • Keyvone Lee is Mississippi State’s third-leading rusher on the season with 140 yards on 29 carries. Lee’s workload has been significantly behind the top two backs, though, at 104 carries and 86 carries, respectively.
  • Mario Craver is a big one to watch this week as he has the second-most receiving yards (355) and the fifth-most receptions on the Bulldogs’ roster this season. He is currently listed as questionable.

No. 7 Tennessee will host Mississippi State at 7:00 p.m. ET on Saturday night in Knoxville.
