Tennessee Football could be closing in on flipping an in-state Southern California recruit, according to predictions from two On3 Sports recruiting insiders on Sunday morning.
Class of 2025 running back Daune Morris has been a Southern Cal commit since early April but rumors are swirling about a potential flip. On3 Sports VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong and USC Football reporter Scott Schrader both logged predictions on Sunday for Morris to flip to Tennessee.
Tennessee’s chances to land Morris have shot up to 90.9% according to On3 Sports’ Recruiting Prediction Machine after the two experts logged their insight on Sunday. While predictions are just that, predictions, it does indicate that Tennessee might be closing in on a late addition to the 2025 class.
Morris, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound running back from the 2025 class, currently plays for Oakland High School in Murfreesboro, TN. On3 Sports’ Industry Rankings have Morris listed as a three-star prospect, the No. 508 player nationally, the No. 41 running back in the class, and the No. 15 player from the Volunteer State.

247Sports’ recruiting timeline states that Morris took an unofficial visit to Knoxville for the Kentucky game on Saturday, perhaps prompting the predictions from On3’s two experts on Sunday morning.
With time winding down in the 2025 recruiting cycle, Josh Heupel currently has 24 commitments to his group. Tennessee’s class is led by blue-chip, five-star offensive tackle David Sanders Jr., who has been a frequent visitor for games on Rocky Top this year.
Tennessee only has one running back in their 2025 class to date with a commitment from three-star prospect Justin Baker back in October 2023.
