Tennessee is 5-3 against the spread so far this season and 2-3 against the spread in SEC play. The Vols covered in SEC wins against Oklahoma and Alabama while failing to cover in wins against Florida and Kentucky as well as their loss at Arkansas.
The over and under have each hit in four Tennessee games this season but the Vols win over Kentucky is the only SEC game where the over has hit.

Mississippi State is 5-3 against the spread this season but is just 2-3 against the spread as an underdog. The over has hit in seven Mississippi State games while the under has just hit in two games.
The Bulldogs’ offense has been solid in Jeff Lebby’s first season as head coach especially since making the move at quarterback to freshman quarterback Michael Van Buren. Over its last four games, Mississippi State is averaging 31 points per game.
But despite its improving offense, Mississippi State is still just 2-7 (0-5 SEC) due in large part to a defense that’s been one of the worst in the SEC this season.
Tennessee is coming off a 28-18 win over Kentucky at Neyland Stadium to improve to 7-1 (4-1 SEC) this season. With four games remaining, the Vols remain in the thick of the College Football Playoff race and need to take care of business against Mississippi State.
