FanDuel Racing promo code: Breeders’ Cup Classic preview
Saturday’s 1 1/4-mile Breeders’ Cup Classic features a full field of 14 horses.
City of Troy, trained by Aidan O’Brien, opened as the 5-2 Morning Line favorite. The colt, which is the son of 2018 Triple Crown-winner Justify, drew the No. 3 post in Monday’s draw.
Todd Pletcher’s Fierceness (3-1 in the No. 9 post), Yoshiko’s Yahagi’s Forever Young (6-1, No. 1) and William Cowans’ Next (8-1, No. 14) are the only other horses with single-digit odds.
Noboru Takagi’s Ushba Tesoro (No. 7), Cherie DeVaux’s Pyrenees (No. 8) and Chad Brown’s Sierra Leone (No. 11) all are at 12-1 odds.
City of Troy has won six of his seven career starts to earn the favorite tag, but Saturday will mark his first race on dirt.
Fierceness is a strong contender as well, winning the 2023 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile and following that up with victories in the Jim Dandy and Travers Stakes this summer.
