The kickoff time and broadcast details are flex for Tennessee football’s matchup against Mississippi State at Neyland Stadium, the SEC announced on Monday. The matchup will kick off at either 7 or 7:45 p.m. ET with ESPN or the SEC Network broadcasting the game.
Oklahoma at Missouri is the other game flexed in the spot. Missouri is off this week while Oklahoma faces Maine in Norman. With Mississippi State facing UMass this week, if Tennessee beats Kentucky it will likely be the 7 p.m. ET game on ESPN.
Tennessee’s final SEC home game of the 2024 season was already set for a game in the night slot (6-8 p.m. ET) but the exact details were not set until Monday afternoon.
The Vols and Bulldogs are having two very different seasons through the first two months of the year. Tennessee is in the thick of the College Football Playoff race and enters November with a 6-1 (4-1 SEC) record. The Vols need to run the table to guarantee a playoff berth while losing one more game keeps them in the conversation.

Mississippi State is in the midst of a dreadful year in Jeff Lebby’s first season as head coach. The Bulldogs are currently 1-7 (0-5 SEC) and haven’t won since their opener against Eastern Kentucky.
While the record remains terrible, Mississippi State has played better as of late. Arizona State, Toledo and Florida all blew out the Bulldogs earlier in the season. But since going to freshman quarterback Michael Van Buren, Mississippi State played Georgia and Texas A&M competitively while red zone turnovers killed them against Arkansas last week.
Tennessee faces Kentucky this week before hosting Mississippi State at Neyland Stadium. The Bulldogs host UMass at home this week before heading back on the road to Knoxville.
