Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava exited the Vols’ rivalry matchup against Alabama in the second quarter with an injury.
An Alabama defender grabbed Iamaleava by the ankles while he was scrambling and Iamaleava fell face first with his head hitting the ground hard. Gaston Moore replaced Iamaleava and proceeded to throw an interception on his first play in the game.
At the time of the injury, Iamaleava had completed three-of-eight passes for 37 yards. The redshirt freshman quarterback was struggling and missed a handful of open receivers down the field.
At the time of publication, Iamaleava is on the sideline throwing the football with reserve quarterback Navy Shuler.
