Tennessee football is wearing its traditional home uniforms with white helmets, orange jerseys and white pants for Saturday afternoon’s rivalry showdown against Alabama, the Vols announced on X Thursday morning.

It’s the second time that Tennessee has worn its traditional home uniforms this season after wearing them a week ago in its rivalry win over Florida. In its first three home games of the year, Tennessee wore its Smokey Grey uniforms, all orange uniforms and class home uniforms once a piece.

So far this season, the Vols are 1-0 in its smokey grey uniforms, 2-0 in its all white stormtrooper uniforms, 1-0 in its classic home uniforms, 1-0 in its white helmets, orange jerseys and orange pants combination and 0-1 in its white jerseys and orange pants.

The Vols have worn their traditional home uniforms for their top rivalry games in recent seasons. Tennessee wore its home uniforms in wins over Florida in 2022 and 2024 as well as Alabama in 2022. The Vols lost in their classic home uniforms last season against Georgia.

Alabama hasn’t announced its uniforms for Saturday’s game but they typically don’t because they have just two uniforms. Unless the Crimson Tide end up wearing their home uniforms as well as Tennessee, they’ll wear crimson helmers, white jerseys and white pants.

It’s a highly significant rivalry showdown at Neyland Stadium. Both Alabama and Tennessee enter the game 5-1 (2-1 SEC) and have looked shaky in recent weeks. The Vols lost at Arkansas before earning an overtime victory over Florida while Alabama lost at Vanderbilt before earning a narrow home victory against South Carolina.

Kickoff between Tennessee and Alabama is at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon. Sean McDonough, Greg McElroy and Molly McGrath are on the call for ABC.
