Each week we’ll take a look at the performances of the players who transferred out of Tennessee following the 2023 season.
Here’s a look at how Tennessee’s outgoing transfers performed in Week 5 college football action:
DL Tyler Baron – Miami (FL)
Baron recorded two tackles in Miami’s 38-34 controversial win over Virginia Tech. Baron has slowed down a bit over the last two games, not recording a sack and combining for only five tackles, compared to a total of 4.5 sacks and 15 tackles in his first three games. The Miami Hurricanes are 5-0 as a top team in the ACC and will travel to take on California in Week 6.
CB Warren Burrell – Georgia Tech
Burrell and Georgia Tech had a bye week in Week 5.
CB Cristian Conyer – Coastal Carolina
Coastal Carolina did not have a game in Week 5 as they had an open date. The Chanticleers are 3-1 and Conyer has rotated in for snaps in the secondary. Coastal Carolina will host Old Dominion in Week 6.
LB Elijah Herring – Memphis
Herring returned in Week 5 for the Tiger’s 24-7 win over MTSU and did not disappoint. The linebacker filled up the stat sheet, recording 1.5 sacks, and 10 total tackles. In his three games, he has totaled 22 tackles, 3.5 sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and one pass deflection.
S Jack Luttrell – Arizona
Luttrell was listed as a participant, however he did not record any statistics in the snaps he did play. Arizona was on the winning end of an upset bid, defeating Utah 23-10. Luttrell has yet to record a defensive statistic on the season but has contributed on special teams.
S Tamarion McDonald – Louisville
McDonald recovered two fumbles and had two tackles in the Cardinal’s 31-24 loss to Notre Dame. This was Louisville’sfirst loss of the season, moving to 3-1 as they look to be a contender in the ACC. Louisville will host SMU in Week 6
OL Addison Nichols – Arkansas
Nichols started at center for the second consecutive game after returning from an ankle injury in Week 4. Arkansas struggled to move the ball, scoring only 17 points in their 21-17 loss to Texas A&M. The Arkansas rushing attack ran for 100 yards on 30 carries. Quarterback Taylen Green was sacked three times, and completed only 23 of his 41 passing attempts. Nichols and starting cornerback Doneiko Slaughter will face off with their former teams in Week 6 as the Volunteers travel for their road game against the Razorbacks.

CB De’Shawn Rucker – South Florida
Rucker was not listed as a participant in South Florida’s 45-10 loss to Tulane.
CB Doneiko Slaughter – Arkansas
Slaughter started in the secondary for Arkansas and recorded three tackles in the Razorbacks 21-17 loss to Texas A&M. Slaughter and center Addison Nichols will face off with their former teams in Week 6 as the Volunteers travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas.
CB Brandon Turnage – Ole Miss
Turnage got his third start of the season in the Rebels secondary in their 20-17 loss to Kentucky. Turnage recorded two tackles as Kentucky quarterback Brock Vandagriff passed for 243 yards, completing 18 of his 28 attempts. Ole Miss will look to rebound with a win in Week 6 when they travel to South Carolina.
S Wesley Walker – Michigan
Walker was not listed as a participant in Michigan’s 24-21 home victory over Minnesota. Walker has not found his way onto the box score since Michigan’s Week 3 win over Arkansas State, but he was listed as a participant in Week 4.
