Tennessee football’s week six matchup at Arkansas is at either 7 p.m. ET on ESPN or 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC, the SEC announced on Monday afternoon. The game was originally announced as either an afternoon or a night game back in the summer but is now locked in for a night game.

It’s the Vols fourth night game this season and their third night game in games away from Neyland Stadium.

The Vols face Arkansas coming off their first open date of the season and a successful first month of the season. Tennessee jumped from No. 15 in the preseason AP Poll to No. 5 after a 4-0 start to the season that saw them earn comfortable victories in a neutral site matchup NC State and a road matchup at Oklahoma.

Tennessee has been fantastic coming off open dates in Heupel’s tenure. The Vols are 3-0 coming off open dates over the last three years while Heupel is 7-1 coming off open dates in his career.

Arkansas is currently 3-1 with wins over Arkansas-Pine Bluff, UAB and Auburn and its lone loss coming in overtime at Oklahoma State. The Razorbacks have a big game this week as they travel to Dallas to face rival Texas A&M. Its an advantage for Tennessee to head to Arkansas after the open date while the Razorbacks have an emotional game this week against Texas A&M.

It’s a critical season for Sam Pittman and Arkansas football. The fifth-year head coach entered the season on the hot seat and its been a so-so start to the season for the Razorbacks. Arkansas getting a win in the next two weeks against rival Texas A&M and top five Tennessee would be massive for Pittman’s job security.

Tennessee has lost three straight games against Arkansas dating back to the Vols 34-13 win in Knoxville back in 2017. The Vols lost in Fayetteville during the COVID-19 impacted 2020 season and in 2011 and at Neyland Stadium during the 2015 season.

Other top SEC games in week six include Auburn at Georgia at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC, Ole Miss at South Carolina at 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN and Missouri at Texas A&M at noon ET on ABC.
