Where there’s College GameDay, there are signs.
The signs have become one of the most iconic parts of the ESPN pregame broadcast as fans from the city create 1998-style WWF crowd signs to make fun of or poke fun at their opponent that day.
And with Oklahoma hosting Tennessee with College GameDay in Norman on Saturday morning, the Vols were the target of the Sooners’ humor on Saturday.
While the off-the-storylines are through the roof this game and perhaps tops the regular season college football slate, Oklahoma and Tennessee aren’t rivals. Competitors, sure, but the two teams have only squared off of the gridiron four times prior to Saturday. Maybe Josh Heupel’s reign at Tennessee could spark something down the road but there isn’t the same level of rivalry like with Tennessee-Alabama or Oklahoma-Texas.
The signs weren’t the most graphic or outlandish that have been seen on the ESPN airwaves, but the Oklahoma fanbase still got some good shots in against Tennessee.
