It’s a new day in the Southeastern Conference.
In the third major SEC expansion and the first since 2012, the premiere conference in college athletics is adding in two of the top teams in the nation.
July 1st marks the official first day of the 16-team Super Southeastern Conference with Texas and Oklahoma adding their names into the fold.
Texas and Oklahoma bring in strong current teams, a bevy of athletic history, the right amount of egotism to survive in the SEC, and – of course – a pair of raging fanbases. The Longhorns take the cake for the… more rambunctious of the two, but the Sooners have a proud fanbase that knows they belong on top as well.
Texas Christian was the first to publicly bid Texas and Oklahoma farewell from the Big 12 conference with a Toy Story-inspired video while SEC Shorts returned to cover the news as well.

Here’s a look at what the social media world has been buzzing about with the arrival of the Longhorns and Sooners into the nation’s top sporting conference:

Oklahoma and Texas are officially members of the SEC.
Tennessee is a combined 2-5 against both programs all-time, but two of the Vols’ six national championship-winning seasons ended in wins over the Sooners (1938) and Longhorns (1950). pic.twitter.com/CcLH6ytwF8
