There’s a buzz in the air with Tennessee competing in a winner-take-all Game 3 of the College World Series finals on Monday night.

Tennessee will take on Texas A&M as both programs look for their first men’s baseball championship and the fifth-straight College World Series title for an SEC program. The Aggies won the first game while the Vols had a comeback victory in the second game, leading to one final game to earn the crown of the nation’s best team.

Tennessee’s quest for their first College World Series championship has the attention of the sports world this weekend, including a former Vols football coach.

Ole Miss head coach tweeted out a good luck message to Tennessee’s baseball team on Sunday morning just before 11:00 a.m. ET. Kiffin’s tweet stirred up fans from a number of different SEC fanbases to the tune of nearly 500,000 views in less than 24 hours.

On Sunday, Tennessee got the upper hand in a comeback victory over the Aggies by a score of 4-1. Texas A&M led off the game with a solo home run in the bottom of the first inning but it was Tennessee that put together back-to-back two-run innings in the 7th and the 8th to go ahead of the Aggies. Tennessee’s quartet of Drew Beam, Aaron Combs, Kirby Connell, and Nate Snead put together eight scoreless innings after the Aggies’ first-inning home run.

The even series after two games sets up the pivotal winner-take-all Game 3 on Monday night in Omaha at 7:00 p.m. ET.

Kiffin isn’t the only notable figure to give the Vols some love during their championship weekend at the College World Series.

UFC fight Michael Chandler tweeted out “V O L S!” during Tennessee’s game on Sunday evening while country musician Morgan Wallen was in the house in Omaha to see the Vols’ win live and in person.
